I am very excited to be starting my twelfth year at Weatherford High School!
I am originally from Prague, Oklahoma, but graduated high school from Seminole High School. I then attended Seminole State College, receiving an associate degree in English. I earned my bachelor's degree in English Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. I earned my M. Ed. for School Counseling from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2019. I taught sophomore English for two years in Mustang, Oklahoma before being hired at Weatherford High School.
My husband, Bart, and I have a ten-year-old daughter, Madison Lynn, and a five-year-old baby girl, Kasey Jo. We like to spend time with family and friends. We travel a lot to see family and the world. We also spend a considerable amount of time outside--there's nothing better than some sun--and cheering on OU!
I am thrilled to be teaching Pre-AP English III and English IV this year and know we are going to have a fun and fulfilling year reaching and exceeding all of our goals for excellence.
Along with teaching three hours of the day, I will also be serving our students by functioning as the ICAP and concurrent enrollment coordinator and the library supervisor. I am excited to be a benefit to our students as they make choices about their futures beyond high school.
Things I love include post-it notes, good books, good highlighters, Dove caramel milk chocolate, and good-hearted laughter.
Things I dislike include frowns, sour cream, cottage cheese, meatloaf, and novels with ambiguous endings.
